Power Rating Formula

Starting with the 2024 season, I will be using my own regular season power rating sytem to rank OAA fotball teams. Points to be awarded as follows:

• 24 points for a win.
• Plus 8 points for a game played on the road or a site that is neutral for both teams.
• Plus 8 points for an opponent 500 or better at game time. A 0-0 record counts as 500 or better.
• Plus bonus points as follows:
  • 7 points for a D1 team.
  • 6 points for a D2 team.
  • 5 points for a D3 team.
  • 4 points for a D4 team.
  • 3 points for a D5 team.
  • 2 points for a D6 team.
  • 1 point for a a D7 team.
  • No points for a D8 team.

The maximum is 47 points for a win against a winning D1 team away from home and the minimum is no points for home loss to a sub-500 D8 team.
